EDGA@ The Golf College/Tournament Golf College

EDGA’s Head of Coach Education and Instruction, Mark Taylor visited both The Golf College at Castro Marin/Lindfield Golf Course UK & The Tournament Golf College at Amendoeria Golf/St Mellion UK to deliver training to student cohorts of both further and higher education around the business of G4D, inside their winter educational programme at the two Portuguese facilities.

The 42 attending students over the two day training programme between the ages of 17-19 were able to learn more about the Golf for the Disabled (G4D) business and help them to carry these learnings into their ongoing future careers inside the wider golf industry – Mark Taylor “It was fantastic to be invited to train and speak to this younger audience about G4D, we had some great experiences sampling the different impairments and it is really positive that these future golf industry decision makers have been equipped with a deeper understanding of G4D ahead of embarking on their different careers inside golf.”

“The EDGA training gave students from the golf college and tournament golf college hands on, practical insight to the challenges faced by people with disabilities with regard to accessing golf. The two days were expertly and passionately delivered by Mark Taylor who highlighted several barriers and guided the students around a number of adaptations that can be made to ensure that golf is more accessible. The training perfectly compliments our education programmes and helps further equip the future leaders of the industry with the skills and knowledge they need to make the sport more inclusive.” Jamie Tressidder.
