ADLF, EDGA Mould Well-rounded Coaches<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cape Town, 25 April 2022: <\/strong>The latest instalment of the ADLF EDGA Coaches Workshop was a resounding success with the assembled coaches becoming more well-rounded instructors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EDGA Head of Development Mark Taylor led proceedings and ensured that regardless of the coaches\u2019 level of experience, the workshop was time well-spent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 A number of the attendees were moulded into \u201cSampler Coaches\u201d which involved being taught the basics of coaching golfers with physical or sensory disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PGA Professionals (PGA of South Africa) meanwhile were shown how best to conduct a lesson with individuals who have different physical disabilities from another: From amputees and Visually-Impaired golfers to golfers with Cerebral Palsy or who are wheelchair-bound, Taylor left no stone unturned to ensure that the coaches enjoyed a stimulating practical and theoretical experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SADGA (South African Disabled Golf Association) Chairman Enver Hassen said that the workshop will do a great deal to improve the quality of the coaching offering within South African Disabled Golf going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRegardless of a person\u2019s disability, they ought to be able to trust that their coach has the knowledge and adaptability to accommodate their disability in a way that helps them maximise their ability and enjoyment of the game,\u201d commented Hassen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur coaches are now far better-positioned to deliver high-quality lessons and I\u2019d like to extend a sincere thank you to Mark Taylor for his role in administering this fruitful program,\u201d commented Hassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you to all the coaches who attended and I wish you all the best in your efforts to grow disabled golf in South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that the workshop is in the books, the coaches have been charged with getting more people with disabilities started in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
